Annual TrainingThese are a collection of pictures from annual training over the years from Ft. Pickett and Ft. Drum. I was with my friends and former unit from Kingston, the 109th FA. We had to support field armor and were moving with the guns. We had our aid station set up close to the guns as you will see them coming around our aid station for refueling and other exercises. The "bang" of these big guns kept me jumping up in the air much to the amusement of Joe Perugino, the section chief from the 109th. I did get to go back to the battalion aid station, where LTC. Arscott and CAPT. Shaffer had set up the medical ward in the field and dealt with all the patients LT. Friendy and I sent over. Though we were there for medical support, and we were extremely busy, it was not all work as we did get to spend some time with the guns. I did get a ride on a T-88 with Sgt. Topedo, Among the training exercises for the medics in the field was medical evacuation on a helicopter which the Aviators from the Virginia National Guard were kind enough to provide at my request. Well, it was 2 weeks already and before heading back to post and civilization, we had time for one last formation.
